We are teachers
Point to Point was established in 2012 by Carly, Kate and Emma Liddell – three sisters who are all former teachers – and we continue to be a 100% family-owned and operated teacher employment organisation. As well as our Directors, all our Recruitment Consultants are former teachers with most of us having taught in England in the past – it is this experience that sets us apart and gives you confidence that you’re working with a team who is uniquely equipped to offer you a boutique service rather than a one size fits all approach.
We want to get to know you
We genuinely care about the schools and trusts we work with. We don’t just want to place a teacher with you and move on. At Point to Point, we want to establish long-term relationships with schools and trusts to help attract high quality teachers that are a great fit for your team. By getting to know your school or trust, we are much better able to understand the type of teacher that will be suited to working with you; we can then draw on our extensive network of teachers to provide the best candidates for you to interview.
We are always humbled by the great feedback we get from our schools and are very grateful to one of our longest clients, Kevin Sadler, CEO of Gateway Learning Community, for summing up our commitment below:
Point to Point were so helpful when we needed to find two teachers. Kate is really on the ball and answers her emails at all hours! The interview process was easy and whilst I was extremely hesitant about employing supply teachers from abroad as it is something we had never considered beforehand, it turned out to be the very best decision we could have made.

We know our teachers
Matching the right teacher with the right school is something we take very seriously. Because our Consultants spend so much time getting to know our teachers, we gain a comprehensive understanding of their backgrounds, goals and career aspirations and can then match them with a school that will benefit from their particular experience and skills.
We stand by our service
As part of our service we include a teacher-induction day every term, a school visit to meet with the Headteacher and placed teacher/s in the first 4 weeks of employment, and a 30-day free replacement period on permanent placements. This gives you 30 days to integrate the teacher, induct them into your school, observe them in the classroom and give feedback. In the highly unlikely scenario that a teacher is not a good match for your school, we will replace them at no extra cost.
We support our teachers
Moving to a new country is a big deal and some people require a lot of support – especially if they are moving by themselves. From the very start, we talk to our teachers about what to expect and we use our weekly check-ins to help them prepare for their departure – everything from how to find accommodation and use the local public transport, to discussing differences in curriculum from their home country. We believe in helping our teachers find a healthy work-life balance, so they enjoy their time in the UK while making a valuable contribution to your school and advancing their career.
A lot of help and advice is offered via our one-on-one catch-ups but we also regularly update blogs on hot topics and interesting tips and advice which we post to our website and our social media.
With this personal service, it’s no coincidence that so many of our teachers still keep in touch with us long after they have settled into their life in the UK.
We have an extensive network of teachers around the world
We know from experience that schools in the UK love teachers from Australia and New Zealand and it is no surprise that those two countries are our biggest source of high-quality teachers looking to move to the UK. There are also some incredible teachers in many other parts of the world that can add some amazing, diverse experience to your team. Our initial vetting makes sure that we only work with those teachers whose qualifications and experience are suitable for the UK.
Our extensive network includes teachers at all levels of Primary and Early Years, Secondary, SEN and Leadership.
We are endorsed by the Department for Education
We are proud to be endorsed by the DfE to resource and supply overseas-trained teachers to schools in England. Part of our Consultant team is dedicated to the recruitment of STEM teachers who qualify for the DfE STEM Programme and we have experience working with and successfully placing some amazing teachers under this programme from all the qualifying countries (Australia, New Zealand, Canada, USA, Jamaica, and South Africa).
I was given the opportunity to travel to Brisbane (Australia) to recruit teachers for the UK. It was a fantastic experience – every aspect of our time there was flawlessly managed. I was surprised by the variety of candidates on offer, the experience the candidates had and the professional development they had undertaken during their careers before our interviews. The service offered by Point To Point was great value for the schools in our trust and the trust itself. I would recommend any school or trust invest in this opportunity.

How does Point to Point work with schools?
Point To Point aims to find the perfect fit when matching potential teachers with their potential schools. We work with the schools ensuring that the selection of candidates available is best suited to the environment, location and job requirements that they are wishing to fulfil.
We also aim to make meeting teachers as seamless as possible with our face-to-face interviews, online meetings and having locations in 3 different countries.
Prior to face-to-face interviews, we equip our teachers with as many resources and as much information as possible to ensure they are aware of all the requirements and, we have encouraged our teachers to participate in webinars to help in preparation for meeting with key staff from the schools. We also assist our teachers in the interview process to ensure that they have all of the necessary information available about the schools, as to make the entire process as efficient as possible.
What types of schools do you work with?
We work with a variety of different schools and have the ability to offer a large range of different teaching positions. Depending on the region of service, we work with schools offering positions in:
- Early years learning
- Primary school teaching
- Secondary school teaching
- SEN or special education teaching
The schools that Point To Point work with have been in the UK (London and the surrounding areas). We also work with schools in Canada and Australia.
What visa options do overseas trained teachers have?
Teachers from NZ, Australia and Canada can apply for the two year Tier 5 Youth Mobility Visa if they are under the age of 31. Many teachers have UK Ancestry or British Passports which they can access to live and work in England. Many schools hold work permit licences and can offer sponsorship to teachers particularly those that teach Maths and Science. Provided the school can prove they have advertised and have been unsuccessful in appointing locally we are finding more and more Primary Teachers and other Secondary Subjects being offered work permits.
How do the qualifications compare?
A teacher trained in New Zealand, Australia or Canada is classified as an OTT (Overseas Trained Teacher). Should the teacher be fully registered in their own country they can apply for their QTS and be awarded this before arriving in England. Some teachers venture to England straight after completing their University Degree and are provisionally registered. These teachers are classified as UQ Teachers and they can work for up to 4 years without QTS. Teachers that hold UK Ancestry or a British passport often would like to know their new school can offer the ability to complete their QTS in the UK via the Assessment Only Route or through schools direct.
What are your fees?
Point To Point have a set fee structure and this varies depending on how you appoint staff. Many client schools benefit from discounted fees when they interview and appoint in Australia and New Zealand throughout the year. Request our terms of business and fee structure.
What type of contracts can Point To Point offer?
Point To Point offer supply, short term, long term and permanent teachers across a wide range of locations.
Teachers that are particularly interested in the long-term and permanent contracts in England are attracted to Point To Point. These teachers are looking to give a commitment to a school and become a part of its community quickly. It’s easy to set up a teacher on daily timesheets or on a permanent contract. We work to your requirements.
How do you complete your compliance checks?

Your school will be provided with all of the necessary documents prior to a teacher starting a contract in your school (CV, verified references, visa, passport, proof of address, proof of identity, qualifications, overseas police checks and CRD/DBS). All documents will be official and certified.
Our registration procedure also includes medical and criminal declarations so you can be sure we have all of the necessary information to provide to you.
