    • CV: Before you apply for jobs, we will help you update and improve your resume to give you the best possible chance of landing a dream teaching job.

      Medical Declaration: for those travelling overseas, you will need to complete a health declaration. You can get this by visiting the Australian Government’s Department of Immigration and Border Protection website or New Zealand Immigration. These tools can be used if you have yet to apply for your visa. Please note: if you have already lodged your visa application, wait until your officer asks you to complete your health examination, or you may slow down your visa application process.

      Visa: if you are going to teach overseas, you will need to apply for a visa. You can do this by visiting the UK Visas and Immigration website. If you are under 31 and a citizen of Australia, New Zealand or Canada, you may be eligible for a Youth Mobility Visa (Tier 5 Application). You will need to show you have enough funds available to support yourself on arrival. Application fees cost approximately £225.00. You can also visit the GOV.UK website to find out if you are eligible for a British passport or Ancestry Visa.

      Passport: before you travel overseas you will need to ensure you have a current passport. You can apply for a new passport, or renew your passport through the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the New Zealand Government Internal Affairs or the Government of Canada.

      Police Checks: coming up to three months before your departure, you will need to apply for a National Police Check. You will need to provide Point To Point with a certified copy. Australian teachers can apply through the Australian Federal Police. New Zealand teachers can apply through the Ministry of Justice. Canadian teachers can apply through the Government of Canada.

      Qualifications: Include the most recent qualifications on your CV, including any tertiary qualifications.

      Qualified Teacher Status: this is a requirement for people wanting to teach in primary and secondary schools in England and Wales. You can apply through the GOV.UK website.
